ANATOMYOF AN E-CIG
The is an incredible variety of electronic cigarettes. Vape hardware caries in structure, function, and style, but the vast majority follow the same basic structure. Power is drawn from the battery, through the threading, to a heating element, which brings the e-liquid to atomization. The fine mist of vapor is inhaled through the drip tip.
Disposable atomizers are completed units, where the coil, tank, and drip tip are included. The unit can be thrown away when the coils burn out, and replaced with a new disposable coil.
Replaceable atomizers have pre-built coils, which can be inserted once a coil burns out. The rest of the atomizer remains intact, but the coil is replaceable.
Rebuilable atomizers are heating elemenets assembled by the user. These atomizers typically allow users to drip e-liquid directly on their "built" coil, but some are usable in tanks.
OHMS & Resistance
There are many factors that play into your vaping experience. The wattage, voltage, and coil construction of your device determines the overall feel of your vapor.
Wattage is the power of the electrical current in your device. In vaping, higher watts means higher temperatures, and a hotter vape. Voltage is the force of the electricity in your device, delivered from the battery. Ohms are a measure of electrical resistance. The flow of electricity is restricted by ohms of the coil, and limits the flow of electricity (converted to hear) in your vape. The higher the ohms, the lower the heat.
Ohm's law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the voltage across two points.
Knowing the best voltage for your atomizer's ohm level is very important for vape safety. If your amps are too low for you voltage, you risk a dangerous battery short. Know the ohm level on your coil, and use safe batteries designed for vaping.
In vaping equipment, different resistances are designed for different wattages. Each coil has an ideal wattage/temperature for the best vaping experience.

Vaping has seen some incredible innovations since it hit the global market. Small, low-power equipment has been replaced with big, powerful mods. As high wattage has sky-rocketed in popularity, higher ohm atomizers have fallen out of style. Sub-ohm vaping means using vape atomizers at an ohm level lower than 1 ohm. Sub-ohm vapers generally experince massive cloud production, more intense flavor, and a hotter inhale.
BATTERIES & SAFETY
Vape hardware is powered by electricity, and batteries are the source of that power. Some mods and electronic cigarettes have internal batteries, which are typically charged via USB cables. Other products rely on removable external batteries, which can be recharged outside of the mod.

Like any tool, an electronic cigarette should be used with extreme caution. Since vaping involves electricity, a vaper needs to have a healthy respect for battery safety. Neglecting battery safety can result in a dangerous situation
Never carry your batteries in your pocket without a protective case.
Never let the discharge rate of your build be greater than the max discharge rating of your battery.
Use batteries designed for vaping, and make sure they are compatible with your hardware.
Never use damaged, frayed, or questionable batteries while vaping.
Don't let our vape hardware get too hot; if your equipment is uncomfortably hot to the touch, refrain from vaping.
Store your batteries in a moderate temperature, and away from excessive moisture. Never leave your batteries in a hot car.
REGULATED VERSUS UNREGULATED
In the early days of vaping and electronic cigarettes, it was rare to find a device that went above 30 watts of output. Innovators started modifying their equipment to yield higher power, which coined the term, "mod." As demand for high-powered vape hardware rose, manufacturers began to release simple metal tubes for housing batteries.
These straight-from-the-battery modifications (also known as "mech mods") allowed vapers to vape at drastically higher wattage, but put the safety of the vaping experience entirely in the hands of the user. Vapers unfamiliar with Ohn's law and battery discharge rates found themselves in dangerous situations. To provide high-powered vape hardware with improved safety, manufacturers began installing regulator chips and high-tect safety features.
Like any new hobby, you will need to experiment with different hardware before you find your ideal vape hardware setup. Do not be afraid to experiment, but always err on the side of caution. Stay safe, research as much as you can, and be sure to have fun. Your vaping journey has only begun!
NICOTINE LEVELS AND E-LIQUID COMPOSITION
E-liquid is a simple solution composed of vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, flavoring, and nictine extract. The ratio of each of these ingredients has a dramatic effect on the vape experience.
Nicotine adds a "peppery" taste to vapor, and gives vapers a stronger "throat hit." When a heavy smoker switches to vaping, a higher nicotine content is advised.
PROPYLENE GLYCOL (PG):
Propylene Glycol is a clear, slightl sweet flavor carrier. An e-liquid with a high PG content has a stronger flavor, along with a "throat hit," similar to higher nicotine content. High-PG blends are recommended for lower-wattage devices.
VEGETABLE GLYCERIN (VG):
Vegetable Glycerin is a thick, viscous fluid which provides a smoother vape, and is responsible for larger clouds. High-VG blends are recommended for higher-wattage equipment.
Though it is completely optional, the vast majority of e-liquids contain flavoring. Flavors can be sweet, savory, robust, subtle, or completely unique.
Taste is subjective, and different vapers have personalized preferences for e-liquid content. Generally, lower wattage devices are made for higher nicotine/PG content, while high wattage devices use more VG, and less nicotine.
Heavy smokers converting to vaping tend to prefer high nicotine, mouth-to-lung devices, and high PG blends. Experienced vapers tend to prefer lower nicotine, higher VG, and direct-to-lung vaping.
